On the ground floor at Skriðuklaustur mansion is the restaurant Klausturkaffi. Icelandic food culture and local ingredients are the specialties, with a focus on foods such as lamb, reindeer, stone bramble berries and wild mushrooms. All the cakes and other food are homemade.
During summertime Klausturkaffi offers a lunch buffet (12:00-14:00) and cake buffet (15:00-17:00) every day and also has a small menu of other delicacies. Opening times are the same as the museum bookings for groups are possible at other times year-round.
Klausturkaffi sells food souvenirs made on-site, including Dandelion syrup, Angelica jam, stone bramble berry jam and sheep´s sorrel pesto.
The restaurant sits 50 people in the old dining room and sun parlor and if the weather is good there are tables and chairs outside, prefect to enjoy homemade blueberry ice-cream or the other treats the restaurant has to offer.
